RumorFix has confirmed that an arrest warrant has been issued for comedian Russell Brand. The star is being accused of throwing a paparazzo’s iPhone through a New Orleans law firm window. A spokesmen for the police department tells RumorFix that Brand will be charged with criminal damage, a misdemeanor.
On Wednesday, Brand joked about the incident, writing on Twitter:
“Since Steve Jobs died I cannot bear to see anyone use an iPhone irreverently, what I did was a tribute to his memory.”
Brand is in New Orleans shooting a new film, and producers on the project have already paid to have the window at the law firm repaired.
