Tucked in the basement of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department — far away from thousands of screaming fans — a 29-year-old William Hung works in a cubicle crunching numbers all day. You could say “He Bangs, He Bangs,” the statistics for the sheriff’s department.
The American Idol reject turned Internet sensation talked exclusively to RumorFix about his new life — eight years and a few pounds after he won over the nation with his rendition of Ricky Martin’s hit.
“I enjoy my new job, It’s pretty cool,” he tells RumorFix exclusively. William, who wears slacks and dress shirts to work with the Crime Analysis Program, says, “I enjoy what I do — pretty much everything. I feel like working for [the] police department has a lot of value.”

William has only been on the job for a few months and his co-workers tell us he’s already making friends.
During the height of his fame, the loveable Chinese statistician made three albums — one that sold 200,000 units. He tells RumorFix that Idol changed his life “definitely for the better, because people know who I am. I get to associate with more people.”
