Obviously Demi Lovato’s estranged birth father is trying to get her attention. He’s got a few websites on speed dial — and RumorFix got a call as well.

Patrick Lovato says he’s going to have surgery for throat cancer on Monday and wants to hear from his daughter.

During a tearful interview with RumorFix, Patrick says he misses Demi and her sister, Dallas, and wants more than anything to be able to see his daughters before his life or death situation on Monday.

Patrick tells RumorFix, “I’d really like my kids to know I have throat cancer. I have a bunch of tumors in my mouth and I can barely drink any water. The doctor said I might not come out of surgery on Monday and I just wish they’d [Demi & Dallas] come see me here in Albuquerque, before I go in.”

While his voice was trembling, Lovato spoke highly of his superstar daughter, “She’s a wonderful gal. I’m so proud of her. I miss Demi and Dallas so much.”

While we feel sorry for Patrick, we must point out that in October 2011, he pleaded for Demi to call him as well. And, Demi’s team has made it clear in the past that the former Disney star hasn’t talked to her father in years and Patrick had claimed Demi talked to him when she was in rehab, which is not true.

Calls to Demi’s rep have not been returned.
