Does the start of a new Dancing With The Stars season mean the start of a new romance for Derek Hough?

The dancing pro has been spending time with college sorority girl Christina Jones after Ryan Seacrest set him up to be her date at USC’s Beaux & Arrows Formal Dance.

Early last week the spunky blonde emailed into Ryan’s KIIS FM radio show to help get revenge on her wretched ex-boyfriend after he left her dateless to the school dance.  Well, Ryan was not only able to set up Christina on a date with the dance champ, but also sent her to interview the new Dancing With The Stars cast Tuesday night where she got a little feisty with her new beau’s partner, Maria Menounos!

During an interview Jones tells the Extra host, “So you do know that Derek and I are very special friends and we actually started dating on Friday … is it going to be difficult sharing him this season with another woman?” Maria fires back, “Maybe, but I think I have him many more hours than you do!”

To set the record straight, Derek’s publicist tells RumorFix, “They aren’t dating.”
