Are we about to get a big glimpse into the live comedic acting skills of pop star Justin Bieber?
According to Alec Baldwin that would be yes. That the Biebs will not only be performing but hosting Saturday Night Live this spring.
The 30 Rock actor spilled the beans during his live podcast with SNL head honcho Lorne Michaels Monday.
While broadcasting from Michaels’ office, Baldwin noted “The biggest names in the business are coming here thirty-something years [after SNL's debut] to host the show,” while reading off the board that indicates the roster for the current season of the show. “Ben Stiller, Melissa McCarthy…Jonah Hill, and I don’t want to ruin any other names, [but] Bieber’s confirmed, he’s the music and the [host].”
But not so fast according to a source close to the show’s production. The insider confirmed to RumorFix that yes, Jonah Hill is going to be hosting the show in March. But they said that there was no confirmation on Bieber appearing on any upcoming shows, either as a host or a musical guest.
While we’re sure that SNL would love to have some Bieber Fever hosting power, it sounds like nothing is locked down yet.
The teen heart throb has appeared on the show before. He was the musical guest when Tina Fey hosted in April 2010 and appeared in several skits. He also guest starred in a Church Lady sketch when Dana Carvey hosted last year.
