EXCLUSIVE: Kim Richards Follows Lindsay Lohan’s Sober Footsteps

RumorFix has learned exclusively that Kim Richards has completed her 30-day treatment at the Betty Ford Center and on Wednesday enrolled in the center’s aftercare program.

PREVIOUS: Kim Breaks Up With Her Boyfriend

As we reported earlier, experts suggested that the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star stay for an additional 90 days.

Although Kim is eager to leave the Palm Springs area, she was convinced to get more treatment at the Residential Day Treatment facility in Rancho Mirage — the very same program that Lindsay Lohan went through last year.

During her stay, Kim will be assigned a treatment team, which includes a doctor, nurse, psychologist, counselor, case manager, spiritual adviser, dietician, fitness trainer and chemical dependency technician.

Here’s what is different in the aftercare program:

  • Kim has free time in the evening
  • Kim gets weekends off to expand her “sober lifestyle”
  • She gets her cellphone back

The 90 day program costs $55,000.

      This woman is like a trainwreck waiting to happen. It is quite obvious she needs a lot of help, and it’s very sad to watch.

      As a recovering alcoholic myself,going on 18 years; allow me to clarify those of you who either aren’t alcoholics, or perhaps just uninformed.. Recovering remains a lifelong process, and dedication to it. A 30,60 or 90 day treatment program is the beginning, NOTthe be all, end all. Remember when you are pointing fingers at other people, there are 3 pointing back at you! We all have our challenges, and I applaud Kim’s willingness break her anonymity. Admitting to the powerlessness and UN-manageability is Step one; I suggest that nay-Sayers pick up a big book, refer to page 58 ( chapter entitled How It Works) and try reading about it before you pass judgement on another. Kim, you don’t know me, but if you ever need to to talk, I will gladly listen without passing judgement. Remember Lady, it’s One Day at a Time- break it down to smaller if need be. May the ‘God of your understanding walk with you’, I guarantee He will if you ask (but you Have to ask); He will not force Himself into your recovery, life or your heart. You go Girl!!
