A source familiar with Demi Moore’s medical crisis tells RumorFix exclusively that Ashton Kutcher’s estranged wife was rushed to the hospital for mixing alcohol with prescription drugs.

The 49-year-old, who is under stress from a very public break-up, was taken to the hospital on Monday night and our source says she mixed alcohol with benzodiazepines, which are depressants that induce sleep or relieve anxiety and muscle spasms. We’re told the mixture of the benzos and alcohol created a “pseudoseizure.”

Our source tells us these seizure-like attacks occur “when the body and mind are just exhausted and shut down like if you are hold a puzzle and throw it up in the air all the pieces have to be put back together.”

Demi’s family has created a circle of love around her. Her daughter Rumor is holding vigil at the hospital, while ex-husband Bruce Willis has vowed to support her in any way possible.

The official word from Demi’s rep is that Margin Call actress is undergoing “professional assistance” for “exhaustion” and “stress..”
