Betty White Proves Old People Can Get Big Ratings

Betty White turned 90 on Tuesday and some classic Hollywood stars like Mary Tyler Moore paid tribute to “America’s Sweetheart” on NBC Monday night, proving that old folks can get big ratings.

Betty White’s 90th Birthday: A Tribute To America’s Golden Girl was the highest-rated TV show on Tuesday (13.9 million viewers) and brought NBC their highest ratings in that time slot since the Vancouver Olympics on Feb. 22, 2010.

And, Betty’s new hidden camera series, Betty White’s Off Their Rockers, came in third for the night with 12.2 million viewers.

Those ratings have got to be the best birthday present Betty got this year!
