The Mindy McCready story took a bizarre twist when the troubled country singer broke her silence saying she will not be able to bring her 5-year old son back home to Florida because she is nearly seven months pregnant with twins!

A judge ordered the 36-year old singer to return her son to Florida by Thursday afternoon or she risks arrest. McCready said the father of her twins is a music producer, who she says, is supporting her fight to regain custody of her son, Zander.

McCready alleges that her son suffered abuse while living at her mother’s home and that is one of the reasons why she left with the boy last week.

“I’m a mom first,” McCready told the Associated Press from Nashville, Tennessee. “No matter what happens, I’m going to protect my kid. If I have to go to jail, so be it.”

McCready’s mother, Gayle Inge, said the abuse allegations are “absolutely not true.”
