Welcome to the club, Miley Cyrus. The singer is the latest celebrity to fall victim to a Twitter hoax after someone began spreading a false rumor that the star had been hospitalized.

The rumor appears to have been started by Twitter user MileyDoodles, then picked up by OfficialCancer, who passed the information along to their 26,000 followers.

“Miley Cyrus fainted. She’s now in hospital for tachycardia … Please #prayformiley,” the message read.

MileyDoodles deleted their account shortly after the news went viral, and OfficialCancer has since called the report a “rumor invented by a girl.” Miley’s friend Kelly Osbourne also stepped in to comment on the tall tale, writing:

“You Miley fans need to stop this. You’re being ridiculous. She has not had a heart attack! Please stop being so aggressive!”

Before deleting their account, MileyDoodles admitted that they made up the rumor “cuz [they] wanted drama.”
