Jay-Z’s Rocawear clothing brand has stopped selling its ‘Occupy Wall Street’ themed T-shirts online after being panned by critics who claim that the rapper was trying to profit from the anti-corporate protests without giving anything back.
The ‘Occupy All Streets’ shirts were pulled from Rocawear’s official website on Saturday after it had been revealed that none of the profits from the shirts would go to the protesters, who began to gather in downtown New York in mid-September.
The protests have since spread across the United States, and some believed Jay-Z was showing his support of the movement by releasing the t-shirts, but as it turns out, was simply trying to make a quick buck off the movement.
Visitors to the Rocawear website are told the page can ‘no longer be found’ when they try to search for the item online.
