The former boyfriend of Hugh Grant’s baby mama speaks exclusively to RumorFix about being dumped for the A-lister.

55-year-old Robert Hodge, who dated Tinglan Hong for two years before she left him for Hugh Grant, says he began getting suspicious when she would make excuses about getting together.

“I confronted her. She said that she didn’t think the relationship was going very well,” Hodge tells RumorFix. Three months later he found out that the 31-year-old he called “Ting Ting” was dating Hugh. “I was very upset,” he told us. “But what can you do? He’s got more money than me and he’s slightly more famous,” he joked.

Two years later — this past summer — Hodge and Tinglan went to dinner as friends and she denied being pregnant with Hugh’s baby. Then they both were shocked at the arrival of an unexpected guest. “[Hugh] walked into the restaurant … She was shocked. I was shocked … She didn’t introduce me as an ex and she didn’t call him her boyfriend.”

The Chinese actress finally came clean to her ex on October 27. She not only admitted that her baby was Hugh’s, she revealed that Liz Hurley is going to be the godmother.

“She went on to say about Liz Hurley coming to see the baby and she said quite a few other celebrities — she didn’t say who — has been to see the baby. She said, ‘They’re not interested in me, they’re just interested in seeing the baby.’”

Hodge says Hugh and Tinglan don’t live together in Southwest London, but she tells Hodge, “When he’s [Hugh's] here, he’s very good.”

As for Hugh, he describes his relationship with Tinglan as a “fleeting romance,” and although the two are no longer dating, Hugh’s rep says he will be a “supportive father.”
