Russell Armstrong Tragedy: What You Saw On Dr. Phil

That’s why Dr. Phil asked RumorFix to be on his show Monday.

RumorFix Editor Richard Ayoub was the last journalist to speak to Russell back in July.  The phone interview took place on the day that Russell’s wife, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Taylor Armstrong, filed for divorce. “It’s a devastating time,” Russell told Richard. But Richard reveals that Russell spoke with no emotion — very business-like. His main concern: “Not looking worse than he already looked.”

Two days before the venture capitalist committed suicide, he spoke to his grandmother, Jean Anders. RumorFix has the exclusive details of what we believe is the last conversation Russell had before he took his own life. Jean tells us that Russell said he had “the biggest decision to make.” He said he was out of options and didn’t know what to do next.

Russell Lynn Armstrong was laid to rest on August 24 at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills. RumorFix reported exclusively that a teary-eyed Taylor delivered the eulogy wearing her wedding ring. Taylor talked about her relationship with Russell and her commitment to keep their daughter close to his two sons from other relationships.

Although the LA coroner, who we’re told is a fan of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, ruled Russell’s death a suicide, RumorFix was first to report that his sister, Laurie Kelsoe, doesn’t believe her brother would take his own life. The Texan is demanding a murder investigation and she’s consulting with an attorney and private eye to get some answers.

      Why would she want to write a book now and have her children see. He is not hear to defend himself and she just looks like she wants more money. Even if he did do the things she is saying she should keep private things private and allow her children to remember their father in the best possible light. Very selfish woman.

      Russell did have a prior history of physical abuse with his first wife. His sister tried to sweep that under the rug when Dr Phil talked about that with her. I am sure Taylor wasn’t innocent in their marraige breaking up and there are 2 sides to every story, having said that, if there is a prior history of domestic abuse it probably did happen again. I know Taylor helps with a Battered Women’s Shelter but that does not mean that when it came to her that she is going to immediately run. Somehow it is always different when it is you. I worked with a woman who was abused the entire time she was married. We finally convinced her to leave her husband but in the end she went back to him because she lacked the self confidence to try to make it on her own and she was an extremely attractive woman. I don’t think Taylor had anything to do with Russell’s death. It is a sad situation. I really hate it for his 3 children and I am sure Taylor probably blames herself to a certain degree because she filed for divorce. There is such a fine line between love and hate. When you have a child with someone, at least from my experience, no matter how horrible they treat you, a certain part of you will always care for them. I guess I’m just not a spiteful person and my ex cheated and lied and probably just about everything you can imagine but I only wish the best for him.

          how can you make an accusation like that. We have no idea what happened in the privacy of their own home.
          This is why many women don’t come forward as victims. If they are not believed how can they get help.

      Maybe she needs the money to pay off bills. If they were still married, she is probably responsible for some or all of those bills. I don’t think she is being selfish, I think she is trying to find away to support herself and her daughter. If he killed himself she may not get any life insurance to support her daughter. Maybe her book isn’t going to be about all of the bad things.

            I was married for almost 17yrs with my ex husband 18yrs and was abused for 18yrs they maje you feel like you cant make it on your own pluss he used my kids over me that he would take them and I would never see them again. I left after 18yrs of abuse..

      One thing that still rattles me is when he got Kennedy a dog for her birthday.  Taylor was livid because Kennedy was in love with the dog and really didn’t care for what Taylor got her.  It was sheer jealousy from Taylor and I believe that Kennedy probably wasn’t allergic to the dog-that was Taylor’s excuse for getting rid of the dog.  She was pretty mean to Russell as far as I could see from the show…she was a mental abuser.

        Dee, if you had paid attention, it was because the child was ALLERGIC to the dog which is a real thing in this world.  People ARE allergic to animals.  It is absurd that you would use the phrase that Taylor was jealous.  Besides, who the hell wants some mangy flea bag running around a beautiful home peeing, craping and shedding everywhere??           The dog was the hypo-allergenic kind.  They have hair instead of fur.  Fur is where the dander comes from that causes allergies.

            I’m allergic to dogs, and there is no such thing as a hypo-allergenic dog. Dander comes from their skin cells, saliva, and hair, which most dogs and cats have, not fur. Even the Obama’s were mislead in that matter. :/

          The kind of dog that was, was a Maltese..They do not shed..That particular dog’s hair grows like a person’s and has to be cut. It was very unlikely she was allergic to the dog’s fur.Now it’s possible to be allergic to a dog’s dander from what I hear.

          Russell had just as much responsibility of having a 60k birthday party as did Taylor. I find them both to blame as pretending they had something they didn’t.Perhaps Russell thought it would bring him more business is why he did the show to begin with.

          I too believe he was very controlling and abusive and Laurie his sister needs to face up to the facts. He was abusive before..I’m sure he was abusive again.The camera can only pretend so much. Like when he went to Kyle’s husband’s birthday party and seemed angry she wouldn’t leave with him.He refused to dance with her or speak to other guest at the party..I don’t know why he bothered to go to begin with.He obviously had something wrong with him..

          I think it was just the fact that he found it harder to put up a front as easily as Taylor did.He knew people could see through him..Perhaps he was jealous of all the success of some of the other couple’s on the show..

          When Tay;or and Russell went to Vegas last season on the show you could tell something wasn’t right with their marriage then…All she wanted was to spend some time with him and work on their marriage some..I think instead he felt as if he was losing control at that point and wanted no part in it.

          One more thing.They claim his body had bruising on it.When someone dies the blood pools and appears to be bruises.I’m sure the autopsy would have shown that.I’m just glad he didn’t decide to take his wife and daughter with him.

      I think Laurie is delusional.  She did not live in that house and only Taylor knows the truth.  She does not seem willing to accept the fact that Russell was obviously depressed and committed suicide.  Many times when someone is depressed, they will not share that with friends or family and put on a ‘front’.  Its not always a topic of conversation that one would go blabbing around.

      Im sorry, this situation is sad, but come on, how does one know what is really going on in a abusive household?  Who is going to owning up to beating their spouse?  Give me a break!  I believe the sister is just trying to get her 15 minutes of fame and probably money, if the law enforcement even thought of murder, don’t you think they would do some real deep investigating?  Im not saying Taylor is totally innocent in things, but people regardless of abuse or not, marriages to fail and sucides happen unfortunately every day.  If a person is truly depressed, the family is usually the last to know until it’s too late.  People need to let things go, pray that the children only see the good from their father.

        Perfectly  put. I couldn’t agree more. I honestly can’t say whether or not she was the victim of Domestic Violence, but I do believe that she is/was an absolute gold digger. I’ve read several articles and watched interviews that prove that not only was Taylor aware of the financial situation, she was Russel’s partner in many somewhat shady business deals. Her job was to interest prospective clients by batting her eyelashes. A $60,000 birthday party for a 5 year old, come on. Poor guy, I believe he probably lived in stress, for fear that he would lose her if he lost the money that he provided her.  She’s a fake!  This is why she has claimed 3 diff names….. aka “Shanna FORD”, of FORD motor company.  She’s NO relation but spent time using the name, thinking it would help to land more financial clients.  If she truly loved Russell, ever, why would she be smearing his name, dragging it through the mud when the man is gone???? The answer is money!  If she had been abused for years, why leave later rather than sooner?  Because the money was running out!

          That “poor guy” was a bully .. they are all better off now. .. he was sick in many ways.. Waaay before he met Taylor, he was an odd guy, a mean guy, who had no confidence and so he preyed on the women he married. She had nothing to do with that– he was a wife beater.

How nice that he found something for his son to do for a living and how generous of Dr. Phil to use his show to promote the site. Dr. Phil claimed that this site digs deeper to get to the truth? This site is nothing more than another TMZ! Almost every other word is self promoting in their write ups too…”we reported this exclusively” “we were the first to report…exclusively” so and so “came to us exclusively”. Dr. Phil was great when he was a guest in Oprah. Too bad he got sucked in by the machine that is Hollywood.

      I am also a sister of someone who was in an abusive relationship and then she decided to commit suicide. In my sister’s case there were also things that stood out as strange and I also demanded a murder investigation. I think it’s part of the shock and grieving process for suicide. The accusation I made was the worst thing I did. I actually accused her husband of killing her and in retaliation he took my three nieces and nephews away from my family.
      Suicide leaves so many more questions than we will ever get in answers. Suicide is viewed as such a disgrace and such a dishonorable way to die that family members never want to believe that this has happened to someone they love.
      There needs to be more attention brought to suicide prevention and talked about so that there is no longer a stigma attached to mental disease and suicides.

      I am really sorry for Taylor and her family’ loss.  Suicide is such a horrific way to go for everyone.  Do people understand that once you put your life out in these reality shows that nothing is private.  How come they don’t have housewive shows of people that are not wealthy?  Taylor needs therapy to over come her insecurities and quit crying all the time.  She probably needs to invest in just a little more surgery to fix her lips.  They are way to big for her face.

      It’s easy for any one of us to come to our own conclusions as to whether or not Taylor was abused, however, does it matter? I left an abusive man after 11 years. Most people don’t realize the struggle that comes with leaving an abusive situation esp. when there are kids involved. The abuse doesn’t stop after you leave and if you think it does you are just ignorant. No woman wants to be abused, but it’s not always realistic to just “walk out”! Perhaps Taylor is a “gold-digger”, but does that mean the allegations aren’t true? NOT by any measure. Situations like this are not cut & dry and to imply that there is a simple solution that all women in abusive situations should just leave, one does not understand the complexity of these situations. A lot of men who abuse women are very charasmatic, in good public standing. When you leave someone like that there are repercussions. My name was drug through the mud after I left my ex. I am just now able to regain my status in the community (luckily he moved a yr. ago). But it turns out that people were starting to hear the truth because my kids were telling their stories to their friends and as we all know, word gets around. I will end with what I told my kids when they asked my why I didn’t blab my mouth like their dad did making up lies about me… I continue to tell them this to this day…. “You don’t have to fight for the truth, the truth just is. The truth will alway rein, and even if no one believes it, you know what you lived, and that is YOUR truth.”  It’s a shame to sit in judgement of someone not one of us knows, either way. Human decency should dictate to all of us, that these are people who are hurting, it shouldn’t matter to us what the details are… SYMPATHY is a lost commodity!

      I believe the facts are very clear, and Russell’s sister is in complete denial.  He pushed her….well guess what….that is abusive….he had a history…he was depressed….life was spiraling and he took his own life.

      Taylor looks so much better now that he is gone. She  is eating normally and has gained weight. There is no worse hell than a bad marriage- one with abuse.. There is no escape.  She was being abused physically and mentally and did not have the confidence to leave….It is such a sick feeling one walks around with all day long when they are entrapped that way.. She never wanted to go home .. who would?

      when i saw Russell’s sister say on Dr. Phil that he didnt kill himself & that he was murdered, got 2 me! u never know what goes on in a person’s head! he split from his wife & kids. he had money problems. the press was all in his face. how can she say that she knows her brother that well 2 kno he didnt end his life!?       I don’t like Taylor!!! From the moment I first started watching TRHOBH’s, I could tell she was out for herself, and I do believe she knew all about the money troubles Russell was having, and I do believe she was the biggest reason why, they had money troubles.  Why in the heck would she write a book about her life with Russell now that he is gone, unless he wants to drag this on and on and keep getting sympathy.  I do feel sorry for her daughter, NOT Taylor.  She is as fake as a CZ diamond!!!

      if you watch the series and watch how she behaves, she seems to be the more aggresive one and the manipulative one. Russell seems to be the nicer one. I think she abused him. She is the one having aggressiveness and always rude and dominant to russell. If she was so scared of him why is she so in charge all the tiime, for example like telling russell off and telling him it was stupid to buy a dog for Kennedy.
