Sarah Palin’s announcement that she isn’t running for the presidency is welcome news to her arch rival, Levi Johnston.
Bristol Palin’s baby daddy tells RumorFix exclusively, “Maybe I can sleep better at night knowing that somebody like that isn’t running my country.”
The 21-year-old author says the former governor of Alaska isn’t running for president, because, “She knew she had no chance of winning.”
Levi doesn’t believe Palin’s assertion that she’s going to put family first. “That’s ridiculous,” he told RumorFix, ” Unless Sarah done changed –- she’s never done that before –- that’s clearly not it.”
Palin also went on to say she’ll campaign for other politicians:
“I believe that at this time I can be more effective in a decisive role to help elect other true public servants to office – from the nation’s governors to Congressional seats and the Presidency.”
As you might expect Levi had some thoughts on that: “I’m not sure how she’s qualified enough to help other people run,” he said.
“She quit governor of Alaska, so I wouldn’t want her advice helping me out.”
Ironically Levi, the author of Deer In Headlights: My Life In Sarah Palin’s Crosshairs, pulled out of a political race himself. The 21-year-old former Playgirl model decided he wasn’t ready to run for mayor of Wasilla, Alaska.
Levi defended his decision saying, “I pulled out of the mayor’s race at the age of 20 years old. It’s a little different than becoming a governor and quitting Alaska after a year. I quit long in advance. I was not qualified for it. I grew up there. My son is going to grow up there. All I can do is help and try and help.”
