It’s a shame that Bravo used to be a network that supported diversity and it took this ignorant sack of flesh to set it back. Andy is Bravo’s poster-child of diversity as an openly gay man in management with his own talk show. I guess that makes Patti Bravo’s poster child of racism, sexism, and overall hate.

Everyone OVERreacting to Patti’s comments needs to take 10 HUGE breaths, and RELAX. Was what she said the most effective, sensitive, or politically correct way to address the question? Of course not. Could what she said have been construed as bigoted or hateful? Absolutely! But before we through anthrax-soaked PR hand grenades at Patti, let’s take a step or two in her shoes and maybe we can come to a more enlightened position. Consider this, Patti’s job for several decades (and she’s clearly pretty good at it) is to take a limited set of data about people and their traits and use deductive reasoning to create the most illustrious picture she can about a person with a minimal amount of information. For example, my 3 closest friends that are members of the LA LGBT scene all agree that the single, hardest thing about being a gay man in LA is finding someone who can commit and be monogamous. Is it more hateful that a straight female matchmaker says the same thing that a significant number of men in LA complain to their friends about every day?? If Andy was a real journalist, rather than making an inflammatory comment, he would have given his colleague (they’re both employed by Bravo therefore they’re colleagues) an opportunity to refine the blunt, sweeping, observations she made. 

Was she wrong to say those things? Yes. Was her apology flimsy and detracting from the point? Yes. Is Patti an anti-homo, anti-semite, who would like nothing more than to see the demise of all gays and Jews?? Get the F outta here! If you want to crusade for the LGBT don’t waste your time bitching and complaining about a reality TV personality and complain to the people in your state legislatures that restricting or preventing the advance of LGBT civil rights. 

Oh who cares?? She is such a hypocrite anyways. She dumped her man and then *KEPT* the ring – something she has always told everyone not to do. She says she has a 99% success rate, but her show is all about the dates NOT working out. Ug. Time for Bravo to smell the steaming pile they have before them and sweep up the front porch.
