True

Charlie Who? According to Variety, Ashton Kutcher is definitely winning after his debut on Two and a Half Men drew the show’s largest audience ever — 27.7 million viewers.

The previous highs for the long-running show came in May 2005, when it followed the Everybody Loves Raymond series finale with 24.2 million viewers overall. Last season, a truncated finale for the show due to the exit of Charlie Sheen peaked with 17.9 million viewers overall.

Monday’s demo score is the best for any prime time telecast since the Academy Awards, and tops the 9.2 for May’s finale of American Idol.

Looks like Chuck Lorre is having the last laugh.
