Snooki, Cat Ommanney, Alex McCord: Who Needs the Walk of Fame?

Posted on August 30th, 2011 at 6:00 am
True

With the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce saying they will never give a star on the Walk of Fame to reality TV people, we asked some of our favorite reality stars how they feel.

Jersey Shore star Snooki turned up at the Walk of Fame today and took a picture of all the people taking her picture, declaring: “We’re gonna start the walk of shame! Wohoooooo!!’

The wonderful Cat Ommanney from the Real Housewives of DC is another one who doesn’t seem too upset: “You get walked on enough by by being on the show, let alone on the pavement!!”

And Alex McCord of the Real Housewives of New York was as ladylike as ever in her response: “Having been both a professional actor and a reality star, I can tell you the two camps are about as friendly as the Crips and the Bloods.  Unless a reality personality crosses over into scripted TV or film/theatre/radio, a Walk of Fame star would never happen.  And I don’t blame them; just because you are on a TV show doesn’t mean you deserve an invitation to James Lipton’s Inside the Actor’s Studio!”

Lynda Erkiletian from the Real Housewives of DC says: “Having a Star on the walk of fame is reserved for Great Talent ~ not just being great at being YOU – Reality Check 101.”

Mary Amons from the Real Housewives of DC says: “If the time ever presents itself, given my family legacy in the entertainment business and my current pursuits as an actress, as well as now co-producing 2 major feature films, I’m hoping I’ll be “grandfathered” in and worthy of a star of my own one day!  My grandfather, Arthur Godfrey has not one but TWO stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for his contributions as a pioneer in television, film and broadcasting.  He truly was one of the founders of reality television, as the first “talent scout.”  I’m sure he would be proud of my choices, how I’ve handled myself and how I’ve parlayed my exposure on “The Real Housewives of DC” into a career in film and television.  He has truly inspired me.”

Sonja Morgan from the Real Housewives of New York: “Never say never.”

Kim Granatell from the Real Housewives of New Jersey: “I agree!! After all, let’s face it, are we really stars with talent like the “Real” stars??? They have worked hard to earn a reputation and deserve to be on that Walk! Reality stars have their place and it’s not there!”
