She’s damn near 13 months pregnant, but Fantasia Barrino is just now coming around to officially confirming her pregnancy to the world.

The former American Idol winner made the announcement at a charity concert for the opening of a new apartment complex in Jacksonville, Florida.

“For a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don’t live my life for folk. This child that I am carrying … God has given me this child,” she told fans. “And I don’t have to hide it from none of y’all.”

While the father of the child hasn’t been revealed, the singer was recently involved with Antwaun Cook. Their relationship made tabloid headlines last year after his divorce from Paula Cook was blamed on an affair he had with Barrino.

This will be the second child for the singer; she already has a 9 year old daughter from a previous relationship.
