The National Enquirer may get a lot of stuff wrong, but at least they have a great sense of humor! Their latest botched report is about Jessica Simpson wanting preferential treatment at the DMV.

“Jessica didn’t want to sit with the average Joes who were ahead of her. So she went to the front desk and asked in a low voice if she could have access to a private room while waiting for her number to be called,” an eyewitness divulged.

A “no-nonsense female staffer answered Jessica in a loud, forceful voice, saying, ‘Miss Simpson, we didn’t do that for the governor and we certainly aren’t doing it for you!”

It’s wonderful imagery. We can just visualize lil’ old Jess pouting while walking back to her seat with her arms folded – but did the singer really get put in her place?

“This is ridiculous,” a rep for Jessica tells RumorFix.
