Life and Style claims that Nicki Minaj and Canadian rapper Drake are dating because they spent New Year’s Eve together. The report was picked up by multiple media outlets, but could the tabloid tale actually be fiction?

“[Drake and Nicki], who have collaborated on songs before, ‘were dancing and cuddling all night,’ a source recently told Life & Style. The duo partied until 4 a.m. and then were spotted leaving together.

It’s no secret that Nicki and Drake are close friends. They’re on the same record label, they have gone on tour together and as Life & Style pointed out, they have “collaborated on songs before.”  But at RumorFix, we wonder why spending New Year’s Eve together is evidence of a romance?

Simply put: it’s not!

You don’t have to take our word for it though, asked if she was single by E!, Nicki responded, “Yes. I’m single and ready to mingle [laughs].”

We guess that also takes care of those silly rumors that she’s dating Diddy, Lil Wayne and Rihanna.
