Just one week after Darren Criss guest starred on the FOX hit Glee, rumors spread that he’d become a season regular — of course it didn’t hurt that his version of Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” had 55,000 downloads in one day.
When RumorFix caught up with the Gleek, he told us he’s filmed five episodes of the show and is hoping to do more.
That’s the same thing he told Rolling Stone in a new video interview that features Darren singing his answers to the magazine’s questions. “As far as I know, I’m just a guest star and I will stay as long as they want me to. I’m cool with that if they’re cool with that. They have a series option for a regular if they want to pick it up, but it’s up to them.”
The other big rumor about Darren is that his character, Blaine, and openly gay Kurt are going to get romantic.
It’s a well known fact that Glee’s scripts are kept as secret as the winners of the Oscars, but will the two hookup? “I think the most important thing about that is to introduce a support system ’cause up until this point Kurt really hasn’t had another gay teen male to relate to,” the actor who grew up in San Francisco answers. “I think if we’re going to approach a really big subject like gay teen youth, you got to take it in little steps. So if they’re going to have a romantic relationship, I hope it’s earned, I hope it’s sincere.”
