On Monday morning, newlywed Russell Brand appeared on Live! With Regis and Kelly to do some rumor busting regarding his Indian wedding.
The British comedian, who tied the knot with pop singer Katy Perry on October 23, showed off his ring to the morning show hosts and said, “I like being married … I feel more relaxed.”
Brand says most of the reports about his nuptials were wrong. The tabloids “tell us lies to confuse us,” he joked.
The star of Get Him To The Greek left no rumor untouched:
Rumor #1 Katy and Russell exchanged wildlife wedding gifts — a tiger and an elephant.
“I would never do that, I’m vegetarian. I love animals. What would you do once you have the elephant? You’d feel bad — you’d be disappointed if it wasn’t like Dumbo.”
Rumor #2 Their wedding procession included 21 camels, elephants and horses.
“[It did] not. It was mostly friends and family.”
Rumor #3 According to the Daily Mail, a Bengal tiger nearly crashed the wedding reception
“I don’t think there were any tiger gate crashers. If there were — I hope they were endorsing a breakfast cereal.”
