Nick Lachey’s Reaction To Jessica Simpson’s Engagement

It’s been five years since Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey split up — and now within a week and a half of each other, both are engaged again.

RumorFix has learned the former 98 Degrees singer is sending his ex-wife best wishes.

During a conference call for the NBC show The Sing-off, Nick said, “I will say the same thing I always say: I wish her the very best.”

Jessica got engaged to Eric Johnson last Thursday when former NFL hunk Eric Johnson surprised her with a $100,000 ring.

Last week, Jessica sent her well wishes to Nick for his engagement to True Beauty host Vanessa Minillo.

“Our relationship was over a really long time ago, and it would be nice if everyone could move on with us and really just celebrate the love between him and Vanessa. I do, and I really wish them nothing but the best,” she told Ryan Seacrest during an interview on KIIS-FM.

Simpson and Lachey wed on October 26, 2002. Simpson filed for divorce three years later citing “irreconcilable differences.”
