Deadline Hollywood reports that Gossip Girl Taylor Momsen “will begin an indefinite hiatus following next Monday’s episode.”

The actress, who has been sporting a Goth-like appearance recently, has only appeared on three out of ten episodes this season.

A source with the show tells RumorFix that Deadline Hollywood’s report is not true. ”She’s still a serious regular. She’s still a part of the show.”

But, the source admits, Taylor will be seen less this season because of the show’s “creative” direction.

Taylor’s character Jenny is still in high school, but the other main characters are in college. This creates a dilemma for writers struggling to keep Taylor attached to the main storyline. The source adds that now when Taylor appears on the show, she will be part of that main storyline.
